Citizens of the Airport #25 – The Next Generation
I like to think of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as a village, inhabited by millions of people for not more then a few hours per day max. But who are the people that pass through? What makes them tick? I’m on a quest to meet the Citizens of the Airport!
Boy:
“My mother bought me this suit. I want to be a pilot.”
Grandmother:
“It was his greatest wish to spend a day at Schiphol. We’re just visiting, you see. The tie is real, by the way, it belongs to his father.”
Boy:
“We went in the cockpit.”
Grandmother:
“He means the aircraft cabin at the aeroplane shop. We spent an hour-and-a-half there.”
Boy:
“I flew in a plane once.”
Grandmother:
“You were very small then. He can’t remember anything about it.”
Boy:
“I went in a pretend plane once too.”
Grandmother:
“He means the Aviodrome aviation museum. And what are we going to do now?”
Boy:
“Eat aeroplane pancakes!”
